okay, when I used this the first time I was more than peeved that the stove top instructions said to simmer for 30 mins . . too used to quick cook oats and I didn't know these were slow cook . . BUT! oh! what a difference! smooth, creamy, absolutely delicious and the best bowl of porridge I've ever had. Well worth the extra cooking time. My guilty pleasure is to liberally sprinkle with Traidcraft's Dark Muscovado sugar and let it melt into a treacly syrup over the top . . TIP: to cut cooking time down in the morning, I put the measured oats in a bowl overnight with about half the liquid which means they can be cooked in the morning in about 15 minutes.
