Q: Apart from design, is this any different from the original Ecokettle? Does the way it works differ? I notice the knob on the top is different so would like to know how it works in comparison with my current model. Thanks
A: The Eco Kettle 2 has been designed with a longer lasting, more reliable heating element, 2.2kW rather than the 3kW element in the original Eco Kettle. The spout has been redesigned to give more controlled and accurate pouring, and it also boils more quietly. However the essentail premise is the same - the Eco Kettle is intended to give you greater control over the amount of water that you boil, thus reducing energy consumption

Q: Some new kettles are heating water to 80 degrees which is supposedly the best temperature for herbal tea drinkers. Does this kettle do that?
A: The Eco Kettle does not have variable temperature settings, but you might be interested to check out the Morphy Richards Ecolectric Kettle which heats to boiling or 85° according to preference.

Q: Is the kettle rated more highly for low usage of energy or for ability to boil small amounts efficiently?
A: The new Eco Kettle has a more reliable and longer lasting 2.2kW stainless steel concealed element. And as Eco Kettle users generally boil less water than traditional kettle users, this reduces energy consumption too.
