The Echinacea herb tincture from Postlethwaites works as a natural immune booster, particularly effective in warding off colds and flu. The native North American plant can reportedly cut the risk of colds and flu by up to 50 percent, making this an ideal tincture for the colder months.
Postlethwaite’s herb tinctures are made by infusing fresh or dried herbs in organically produced rye ethanol (ethyl alcohol). They present the herb in a form most readily assimilated by the body, with each herb isolated to ensure its purest form.
Tinctures are best taken around mealtimes and mixed with water or fruit juice. Some can have a slightly bitter taste, orange juice is particularly effective in masking this. Adding tinctures to hot fluid reduces their alcohol content, but it is worth noting that the amount volume present is negligible at the outset.
