Empty Boat are a pool of musicians formed as a part of an unusual project to form links with Mozambique. In 2004, Empty Boat visited Mozambique, and toured with Massukos, Mosambique's number one band, and raised awareness about sanitation and hygiene issues in Africa.

Empty boat combines African, Latin and jazz rhythms in thier music. Thier vibrant and melodic music is sung in Portuguese and English, and is bursting with sonic invention.

The project was inspired by Dick and Enid Eyeington, who worked to improve health and eduation in Tanzania, Swaziland, and Somaliland.
