Patagonia’s simple yet inspirational Mission Statement is: “Build the best product, do no unnecessary harm, use business to inspire and implement solutions to the environmental crisis.”

Patagonia started life as a one man company that made tools for climbers and remains at the forefront of apparel for climbing, as well as skiing, snowboarding, surfing, fly fishing, paddling and trail running.

All of these sports are silent and require a bond between nature and man, and reward comes not in the shape of material gains but in the form of hard-won grace and a mutual dependency on your environment.

Patagonia’s values continue to reflect those of a business ran by a passionate band of climbers and surfers; minimalist and stylish, simplicity and utility. In relying on beauty spots and wild nature to practice their passions, the folks at Patagonia are understandably concerned about the welfare, sustainability, and the fight to save these places. As such they donate time, services and at least 1% of their sales to environmental groups across the globe to help reverse the tide.

Patagonia use recycled polyester in many of its clothes and only organic, rather than pesticide-intensive, cotton.
