How Does It Work?
The IntelliPlug for Televisions learns to recognise the signal from your television remote control, this enables it to activate your television automatically into standby mode whenever you are ready to use it. When you have finished using your television you switch it off in the normal way using your remote control and the IntelliPlug does the rest!
No more standby - no more wasted power.
Instead of simply switching off the television at this point the clever IntelliPlug continues to record the amount of power being drawn by the television and waits until the internal circuitry has completely powered down in to a standby state, only then does the IntelliPlug switch the television and peripheral equipment off.
Switching the television power off immediately (as if pulling the plug from the mains) can cause corruption of the internal software in some digital televisions. This can result in the television having to go through a re-boot process.
The IntelliPlug has dedicated 'Permanent On' socket, designed for items which require permanent power such as video recorders or digital TV boxes with built in Personal Video Recorder.

- Zero-crossing detection - Automatically determines when the power supplied to the peripherals is at an optimum level for creating the least amount of stress to components.
- Quality Surge Protection - will dissipate surges of up to 605 joules of energy/a peak current of 15,500 amps and includes thermal fuse in case of a catastrophic spike.
- Low standby power of approximately 0.5 watts.

Q: i have sky hd will i still be able to record on my sky box if i buy this plug
A: Unfortunately, this is not compatible with timer record functions on the Sky+ Digibox, or similar products. However, the IntelliPanel for Televisions will allow you to do this if you plug your Sky Box into the 'Always On' socket. I hope this helps. Marty.
