Q: Hi, I am currently researching which nappies to use. My local council have informed me that biodegradable nappies can be disposed of in our green garden waste bins provided by the council, the contents of which goes to a large compost site.
Do you think these nappies are suitable for this? The description states the 'packaging' is compostable, but that the nappies are only made of 50% biodegradable material. Any further info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Vivienne
A: Hi Vivienne, thanks for getting in contact. These nappies are 50% biodegradable and we stock other nappies that are 60% biodegradable. It's not recommended to use these nappies for home composting, however, you may wish to get in contact with your local council to discuss whether 50 or 60% biodegradability is suitable for the green garden waste bins.
You might want to take a look at Wendy's blog too, as it discusses which nappies are greener; disposable or reusable.
I hope this helps. Robyn.
