Refosco del Peduncolo is a fantastic wine, unknown to the majority outside Italy. The native grapes are from the North East of Italy, with the best settings in Veneto and Friuli. Montalbano, in its effort to get the maximum from its vineyards produce native grapes, and offer an outstanding organic Refosco del Peduncolo Rosso.Located in Friuli, the Montalbano estate is in an area called Grave, close to the town of Udine. The vineyards are surrounded by the Alps on the north and the warm Mediterranean Sea to the south, both protecting the grapes. Made with only the best organically grown hand picked grapes, from vineyards fully owned by the estate, this wine is a deep ruby colour with red fruits on the nose, a little herbaceous on the mouth and a long fruity aftertaste.
