Not all Pinot Grigio are the same or are made with 100% Pinot Grigio grapes. Montalbano Pinot Grigio comes from the Montalbano estate in Friuli. An area called Grave provides one of the best soils for the grapes. The vineyards are surrounded by the Alps on the north and the warm Mediterranean Sea to the south, both protecting the grapes.
Made with the best organically grown grapes, hand picked from vineyards fully owned by the estate, the wine is only a short time in the barrels. The wine has structure and yet, at the same time, the wood doesn’t overpower the characteristics of the grapes. The results are a wine that can please both the lovers of Pinot Grigio, but also for those who is looking for a nice, fruity and refreshing wine with structure.
The wine is of a medium gold colour tending to deep, with scents of flowers and ripe melon in the mouth, wide and structured with an excellent and long aftertaste.
