What Bob Geldof and Midge Ure started with BandAid, we are now extending with the introduction of Fair Trade Music, with Traidcraft's development charity earning a share of every CD sold. William Daniels, New York City music producer, has 'translated' original Traidcraft choir recordings from Mtondeza, Malawi into an energizing sound re-mix perfect for the dance music fan in you or someone you know!

"We decided to create something that was artistic and which would blend well with our individual musicianship as electronic music producers, and that would raise awareness about the Malawi people and fair trade, particularly for the younger generation. The result is a set of tracks with sounds ranging from dance music to tribal sounds, incorporating samples of the original Traidcraft Malawi choir vocals. One of my favourite tracks is ' Hands Wide Open' - inspired by the spirit of the people of Malawi - we hope this music makes you open your hands up (on the dance floor!) and in support of fair trade in Malawi!" - William Daniels, music producer.

This CD is dedicated to the people of the village of Mtondeza, Malawi, including Fairtrade sugar cane producers of Kasinthula, who benefit from Traidcraft trading and support programmes.
