Concentrated, meaty, chocolaty wine from one of the best vineyards in Provence.
Tasting Notes:
Deeply coloured red made from Cabernet Sauvignon with Grenache and Cinsault to give it some spice and character. Big, rich and meaty wine with a long, chocolaty finish. This is very moreish and will match dark meats, casseroles and cheese.
More Information:
Widely held to be one of the best vineyards in Provence, Henning Hoesch, a German expatriate, developed the vineyard from 2 to 25 hectares on the slopes of the Massif de Cenge. His son, Sylvain, travelled widely, and as well as playing the cello and being a keen footballer, is a talented winemaker. The estate is organic and grapes are harvested from 35 year old vines and given a long 'cuvaison' to extract the maximum but also keep the tannins soft.
