I was a bit sceptical about this product before buying it, as I've read some websites that denounce it as wonky science. Having tried these in two of my bathrooms, I have to say that they work, and I don't care if it can't be explained. Odours are reduced to barely noticeable, which is far better than the horrid, artificial fragrance of most rim blocks.

I don't know how this works, but it does exactly what it's supposed to do! After years of trying to solve a recurring toilet smell (caused by water problems in my local area) with chemical solutions, which often smelled strong and acrid, this little gadget has finally done the trick. No more smell, no powerful stink of chemicals or artificial air fresheners, just neutral air. For the same price as you would probably pay for a few months supply of air fresheners, you get something that it's claimed will last for years. A really good buy.

I can't really tell whether it's working because the toilet wasn't smelling yet anyway, but the idea of never having to replace it is great. It seems reasonably sturdy.

Q: Have you received any feedback from customers using your product on a boat? When I return to my boat after a few days away and pump the sea toilet I get a "bad egg" smell from the water that has been sitting in the pipework. Do you think your product could help neutralise these smells?

A: Hi, so far we haven't received any feedback from seafaring customers who have tried this product, so we can't vouch for it's use in this setting. The smellkiller works by reacting with the water, neutralising the odours. It's possible that sea water, which contains a large amount of salt, could damage the Toilet Smellkiller, or react differently to it.
