Please note: This product is not suitable for Vegans.
Camomile and Marigold Washing Up Liquid is the only product in Ecover’s range which contains a small percentage of animal ingredients, i.e. milk whey. Milk whey is a bi-product of the cheese industry and would otherwise be thrown away. All our other products are suitable for vegans.
Ecover add milk whey to its Camomile and Marigold Washing Up Liquid to ensure that it is extra kind to the hands. People who suffer from skin allergies or eczema can use it without putting on gloves.
Lemon and Aloe Vera Washing Up Liquid is an excellent alternative for those who prefer not to use a product containing milk whey.

Q: Can the washing up water using this product be used to water the garden safely?
A: This is what Ecover have to say on the matter:
"Grey (waste) water is safe to use for to water your plants and garden. However we recommend that if possible you allow the water to 'settle' for 2 - 3 days first. During this time the process of biodegradation will have already started to happen, minimising further the impact to the environment."
I hope this helps.

Q: I use this product and have done for some time. I know it is a product which is safe for the environment but what I would like to know is whether this product is safe for use with septic tanks. Does it do any damage to the good bacteria which is cultivated in a septic tank?
A: Ecover are not sepcific when it comes to their products being used in Septic Tanks. However, I'm happy to be able to recommend the entire range of Bio D cleaning and laundry products - all of which will not have a negative impact on the natural workings of septic tanks.
