Stop draughts coming from your chimney and save on heating costs with this Chimney Pillow especially designed for Log Burning fires. Simply inflate to install and deflate to remove, it is so easy, reusable and completely safe, as it shrivels up if heated too. The chimney pillow is also fantastic at stopping debris, soot and bird mess from coming into your home and it is made from special, durable long life plastic.
INSTALLATION: With the tap open (in line with the hand grip), blow a little air into the Chimney Pillow. This should be enough to let you place it loosely into position without it scraping against the chimney’s side. If you have a cast iron fire with a hole through which the smoke rises, you will need to push the Chimney Pillow through this before you start inflation. Once the Chimney Pillow is in place and with the white label facing you, complete the inflation.
VENTILATION: The Chimney Pillow’s unique shape should leave small air gaps in two corners, allowing air to ventilate the chimney. In some chimneys, lack of ventilation may cause build-up of damp in the wall. If this happens, remove your Chimney Pillow, let the wall dry out, and then replace the Pillow taking care that there are gaps for ventilation. Put the REMEMBER notice in the grate or by the gas tap. If winds cause high chimney suction, tie the Chimney Pillow by its tap to the grate. If you are leaving the Chimney Pillow permanently in position, check inflation every 3 months and top up if needed.
SAFETY: If a fire is lit with the Pillow in place, it will quickly shrink, allowing fumes to escape up the chimney. The bag is unlikely to burn if it remains in the chimney and the hand grip is not inflammable. If you over-inflate your Chimney Pillow, the inflator will probably blow out before the bag bursts.
For Chimneys up to: 90 X 38 cm/36” x 15”.
