Q: Does the remote control have to be able to 'see' the plug unit or will it work even with a desk in the way?
A: The remote control can detect devices within a 30m range and should even be able to control them through walls; therefore there is no need for it to be able to ‘see’ the devices.

Q: Can you tell me whether, if you use the Bye Bye Standby Energy Saving Kit with a VCR or DVD recorder or player, the clock on the player will need resetting when it is switched back on?
A: If your VCR and DVD recorder need their clock resetting if you switch them off at the mains, then the Bye Bye Standby will have the same effect.

Q: Usually remote controls take batteries, which are harmful to the environment-does the remote for this device also use batteries? if so what type?
