About Cannabia
Germany-based Cannabia was set up after its founders started to experiment with how hemp could be used in beers and lagers. This experimentation began in early 1996 after officials authorised the cultivation of hemp.
The team behind Cannabia saw how it was being used as an aroma in food and perfume, as well as in organic cosmetics, and were inspired to couple this newfound love with their oldest passion; beer.
The next step in their plan for the world’s first hemp drink was convincing an organic brewer that it could work and that the results would be outstanding. Luckily, the brewer came on board, substituted hops for organic hemp and created the first traditionally brewed Organic Hemp Beer.
