The UK imports over 90% of its barbecue charcoal, which contributes to the destruction of habitat and the loss of tropical rainforest. Here in the UK, many of our traditional woodlands lie neglected because there is little economic incentive to maintain them.
The BioRegional Charcoal Company Ltd was set up in 1995 to provide a new approach to the local production of wood products in the UK.
BioRegional work with a network of charcoal suppliers from woodlands up and down the UK, who produce their FSC certified HomeGrown charcoal and supply direct us, meaning that the charcoal we supply is sourced as from woodland less than half an hour from our distribution centre.
