Q: Would I need to use the alfresco wood restorer first and then the protector on my (not new) teak furniture?
A: Hi, to use this Alfresco Wood protector, you will need to strip the wood from all wood pulp, any stains, algae, moss (which you can do effectively with the Alfresco Wood Restorer) and any factory applied treatment (which can be removed by sanding or with white spirit if the furniture is new). Then the Alfresco Wood Proterctor can be applied and will help protect your furniture for one to two years. I hope this helps. Robyn.

Q: Will the furniture need to be washed down after using this product as I do not have an outside tap for a hose? I want to get rid of the grey colour on teak furniture and some black marks too. How much would I need for 2 bench seats/ large table and 2 chairs? Joan Giles
A: These are the application guidelines from the manufacturer:
It is very important to remove any factory applied treatment. Alfresco Protector (being water-based) will not be absorbed if there are other coatings present.
On new, untreated timber, wipe the furniture with cellulose thinners (White Spirit) to remove all acids and natural oils from the surface. This helps penetration and adhesion.
Carefully apply one liberal coat of Alfresco Protector with a paint brush and allow to dry for one hour. This one coat will protect the furniture for one year. A second coat can be applied extending the life of the treatment to two years.
One 1Litre tub will provide coverage of 16 Square Metres.
