Andrew Hunt and Nick Salter founded Aduna – which is Wolof for ‘life’ or ‘world’ – after travelling Africa and tasting bouye, a drink made from the fruit of the Baobab tree. They found out the health benefits of this 100% natural ‘superfood’ which is high in nutrients including vitamin C, calcium and fibre among others, so they decided to create products such as their Fruit Pulp Powder to bring it to the masses.
Aduna works closely with small-scale famers, particularly in Senegal and Kenya, who benefit most from the sale of these products which contain baobab fruit. Unlike other ‘superfruits’, baobab is completely natural as it dries on the branch and does not need to be freeze dried or otherwise transformed, so it is completely free of any synthetic ingredients. Aduna’s mission is to spread the feel good factor, from the way they work to the products they create.
