Last year, 23.5 million people took part in Stand up and Speak Out - a worldwide call to action against poverty and inequality - and set a new Guinness World Record in the process.

Next week, you can join humanitarians like His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to take action against poverty.

From 9pm on Tuesday 16th until 9pm on 17 October, people around the world will literally and symbolically Stand Up and Speak Out, and demand that their governments keep their promises to end extreme poverty by 2015.
